Cooler Than Average Temperatures Along the East Coast

TASTE OF FALL AHEAD

On Friday morning this week, it will not feel at all like recent sticky and warm mornings. In fact, there will be a noticeable difference. In fact, the noticeable change will arrive as early as Thursday morning. Low temperatures will be in the 50s and will be refreshing. Widespread mid-50s are expected across NC and SC, with the exception of the coasts which will be in the low 60s.

However for all areas in the Carolinas, this will be a welcome change after our recent heat. It’s not completely uncommon to see this type of heat in September, however it is getting late in the season for it to be happening.

Below are the GFS forecast temperatures for 8 am Thursday:

On Friday, we can expect more of the same as a wedge will hold across much of the East Coast in the wake of Humberto, which will drag in cooler air behind him. Yes, this is our first real taste of fall, but it may or may not be sunny the whole time.

It doesn’t take long before the warmth starts to build back in over the weekend. When it does, it could actually be in the form of beautiful weather! Might be a good weekend to get outdoors if it doesn’t rain, but it’s looking dry, especially in the 6-10 day range.
