Dangerous Flooding Likely Tonight Across MD, DC, PA

The entire East Coast is in for a rude awakening over the next 7 days, and tonight the danger begins. A coastal storm will move up the Chesapeake Bay and into PA overnight, bringing with it high winds and torrential rains.

Flooding will be likely tonight across upstate PA. Mudslides are possible as well as creeks and streams overflowing their banks. Dangerous travel conditions will exist on the interstates.

Over the next 7 days, western VA will be the next target for extremely heavy rainfall. Flooding and mudslides will also be likely there as well as dangerous highway travel. Western NC is also not out of the woods.

By 2 am early Sunday morning we expect the low to be over the PA/MD border.

The low is then forecast to race off into Canada. If you haven’t already, check out or expected impacts map made on an earlier post: Coastal Low For the Mid-Atlantic Saturday into Sunday
