Deadly Storms to Unfold Across the South Easter Sunday

A very dangerous situation could be unfolding this weekend, as tornadoes could plague the Deep South. Mississippi and Alabama, as well as the Florida Panhandle and Louisiana have a shot at seeing destructive tornadoes. These storms could come at night, which makes this potential outbreak even more dangerous.

It will be a multi-day event, from Saturday night into Sunday, and perhaps into the day on Sunday for parts of GA, SC, and NC. The area with highest confidence to see tornadoes is in the Deep South.

This is a potentially life-threatening event, and considering many will be at home could be a good thing, if they have a basement or a safe place to shelter. What should not happen is folks convening at churches where they are grouped together, when tornadoes could hit.

The SPC official outlook is below. Percentages are actually considering we are still multiple days away from the event. Thus, forecast confidence will increase as we get closer.

Everyone in the orange and yellow needs to have a plan of action, should a tornado threaten your location! Think of that plan now.

Stay tuned!
