After all the storms and severe weather clears out, we will be in a much cooler pattern, and even downright cold and winter-like across the Upper Midwest. There is a high danger of a freeze that could kill off many early crops and outdoor plants.
Here in the Carolinas, the likelihood of seeing damaging frost is more likely in western parts of the states, such as the foothills, mountains, and Upstate. This could be some rather anomalous late-season chill, and will limit temperatures from surpassing 80 degrees for quite some time.
The CPC 6-10 Day Outlook from next Tuesday to next Saturday shows high probability for below-normal temperatures across much of the country. Keep this in mind if you still are expecting to plant outdoors. It may not be safe, quite yet.
You may still need the jackets and coats, especially if you head out in the morning!
