Early April will possibly have below average temperatures

Things will heat up this week in the Carolinas, as by Friday many of us can expect to be sitting well into the 80s. The farther south you go, into South Carolina and Georgia, things will heat up even more. Florida will be the hot spot this weekend, with highs above 90 degrees F.

But don’t let that fool you, since a big shift could be coming to start April. This is not unprecedented for this time of year however. There is the potential for much cooler temperatures, and even cold temperatures up north. There could be a potential for frost across Virginia and even across North Carolina.

Below are Euro temperature anomalies for the morning of April 3rd courtesy of tropicaltidbits.com:

Temperatures will bottom out in the 30s across much of VA, NC and northern SC during this cold snap. It is not advisable to plant just yet, and frost can damage outdoor plants and gardens.

The warmth and then cold will make for the usual topsy-turvy weather whiplash across the Southeast! Stay tuned!
