Fall Nowhere to be Found into October

The sun is still shining strong across much of the Eastern US this weekend, and it’s only a matter of time before we begin to heat up once again. While temperatures are fall-like this Saturday, Sunday we will start to feel the warm-up. Hot and humid conditions will return once again next week. Highs could top out in the 90s, and in some locations even the mid-90s!

A ridge of high pressure will persist over much of the Eastern US and will be quite strong. This also means that our region will remain very dry, as drought concerns will increase.

Hazy and humid conditions will also be a concern for air quality concerns in and around major cities such as Charlotte.

The 90s could start by Thursday this week and will persist into this weekend. Overall, we think anywhere from 90-92 degree readings will be common for highs. GFS high temperatures for next weekend:

Take it easy if you are outdoors and especially if you are working. Some community pools may still be open so it might not be a bad idea to get one last visit in before the season ends! If you own one you may want to keep it open at least for a few more weeks.

Stay tuned!
