Forecast for 12/7

Forecast for 12/7:

It’s the calm before the storm as the region will see dry skies, but clouds will be overtaking through the day. Temperatures will remain chilly ahead of our major winter storm.

Next 3 Days:

This weekend the region will be experiencing the first winter storm of the season. Heavy snow, especially north and west Charlotte will come down close to 2 feet in the mountains. Ice is the other hazard as cold air will be pumped into the region from the north and keep the surface temperature at or below freezing from Charlotte to Raleigh. More details are coming on this Friday as we will be releasing our snowfall map. After the storm passes the threat for black ice will last, especially with a deep snow depth and the constant melting during the day and re-freezing at night.
