Are some of you sick of the heat already, and are concerned about it being a long, hot summer? We can put to rest the idea that the summer will be excessively hot due to springtime heat, since not all summers were hot in the past after a warm spring.
What we are seeing is a refreshing outbreak of cooler air on the GFS around the 24th. This would almost be a fall-like airmass, with cool breezes from the northwest.
What kind of morning temperatures are we looking at? Refreshing 50s and even 40s in some locations. This could give a glimpse into what it felt like in April in the Northeast!
Don’t give up thinking it will be a hot summer! We expect it to be quite seasonable, or average.
