Heatwave to Bake the East Late Week

We have been kind of avoiding mid to upper 90s recently for the most part, however by next weekend many of us could be baking in upper 90s or even triple-digit heat next weekend. It will be a good time to visit the pool or beach to cool off. With this comes the dangers of outdoor labor, which can be deadly if not hydrated. Heat and humidity look to be rampant by the start of the coming weekend. A “death ridge” of high pressure looks to dominate much of the Eastern US, which is typical for this time of year. Even slightly above normal temperatures can be significant in the Southeast for this time of year. Friday this week the upper 90s could cause the Southeast to swelter in mid-to-upper 90s degree heat. Northern VA could hit the century mark.
