Hot 4th in Store for East Coast, Sweltering in Midwest

As summer is officially here, so is the heat and humidity. We will feel it across the South, but residents to our west will feel it even more as a huge dome of high pressure takes shape across much of the country.

Heat waves can be very dangerous events, and with the added humidity the danger increases even more. Sweltering heat and humidity dehydrates a persona quickly, leading to heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Remaining in a/c is the best weapon to combat these dangers.

As the 4th of July festivities kick off, so will the heat. On Wednesday the 4th, locations in VA and NC will see heat indices in excess of 100 F. The only spots to escape the brutal heat will be at the beaches.

A tropical feature could keep temperatures down across the Deep South, especially SC, GA and FL. Otherwise, unsettled weather in the form of showers and thunderstorms could keep blistering heat at bay in those locations.

Stay safe and hydrated!
