Icy Start Possible for Western NC; Parts of SC

A short-lived wintry event is possible on Monday morning for western NC, and even parts of the SC Upstate. This event is not expected to be major, but could have some local impacts. Travel along I-85 through NC could become dicey Monday morning into Monday afternoon.

Plenty of lead travel time is recommended. However, ideally travel is discouraged anywhere sleet or freezing rain falls, or even light snow. Travel across the South can become a headache rather quickly. In fact, all it takes is a little bit of rain.

Stay safe and work from home Monday, if you have the option. High temperatures are also shown, therefore anything frozen that falls is not expected to stick later in the day.
