If we were going to cross our fingers and hope for snow later this month, and if the forecast holds, then things could be looking favorable later this month. The southern branch of the jet stream will become quite active.
This could mean 1 of 2 things, either we will be warm and wet, or we will be wet with cold air in place. Too early to tell yet as the details are still far away, so please let me emphasize this.
The reason I am saying there is hope, is because the GEFS ensembles are indicating an active southern branch jet stream over colder than normal surface temperatures during this time frame. This would be our next shot!
