January Thaw Begins this weekend and into next week

The cold is coming for certain later this month, but first, we will bask in warmer than average temperatures. By Saturday, much of the cold and snow cover will be erased across the Southeast and the warm spell will begin.

The warm spell will last at least through the 23-25th. Much of the East especially from coastal Carolina into New England will be well above average. Highs will reach into the 60s up north, and into the 70s along NC/SC coastal locations.

My suspicion is that the warm spell will break on or around the 25th. With all that cold in Canada on the GEFS, I would not be surprised if it made it to the East Coast.

The question mark comes after the 25th, but we are thinking it will be back into the deep-freeze for many of us.
