More Chill and Gloom Later This Week, Then Spring Finally Arrives?

Rain this week and damp for most of us, and we seem to be stuck in this pattern all week. Also, the raw and chilly conditions will set in along with the rain. But how about the pattern once the rain moves out? For this upcoming Saturday, we are looking for the cold to arrive once again. Below is the 500mb height anomaly for 8am on Saturday the 28th:

This coincides with below normal temperatures, and in some locations, much below normal temperatures for the East. Cold wake up on Saturday.

Then, things start to feel better and more spring-like as we head into next week starting Monday. Each day will progressively become warmer depending on cloud cover. But it certainly will feel better outside than this week. 500mb height anomalies for 8pm next Tuesday:
