More Tropical Trouble Possible This Week; Ian Remnants Return?

It appears as though there could be more tropical trouble, as the NHC has outlined a 30% chances of development in the Caribbean. While the chances of something forming are small, this area should be watched over the next 5 days.

The GFS nor the Euro models show much of anything in this area over the next 5 days. So it is possible that this area of interest (hopeful) dies out and we have a quiet rest of the hurricane season. But it isn’t over until November 30th so continue to follow the latest updates from the NHC.

Ian is not gone yet! And could be spookily coming back to life in October-fright fashion. He could come back as a coastal low sometime between tomorrow and Wednesday this week off the Virginia coast.

Impacts would include beach erosion and possible coastal flooding, but this would be a nor’easter style of impacts rather than a hurricane. This is only Ian’s remnants and not a full-on tropical system. This low will then move out to sea rather quickly after it forms but it could get bumpy temporarily for the VA coast.

It’s been an eventful week, but things look to settle after Ian leaves. Other than an Arctic blast at the end of this week into the weekend. Maybe I shouldn’t have said the “Q” word.
