November Heatwave Over; Big Rains from Nicole; Cold Next Week

Hurricane Nicole will slam into Florida this week, and gusty winds will be in our area long before her arrival later this week. Prepare for 25-35 mph gusts and possibly higher along the coast. Then later this week as Nicole moves through inland, expect gusty winds, heavy rains, and tornadoes. Below are the expected rain totals.

The good news is is that the recent heatwave is now over, and we are back to normal to slightly above. But then the real cold wave arrives this weekend and lasts into next week. Morning lows will be in the 30s for many, and daytime highs will be in the 40s and 50s!

Below is the updated temperature probabilities for next week by the Climate Prediction Center.

Much of the Lower 48 will be below normal, and this cold airmass has legs. The 80 degree temperatures will be a distant memory this time next week.

Stock up on some firewood! Have your chimney inspected first and use fireplaces safely according to all official recommendations.
