If you will be staying up late tonight, and you are either in Pennsylvania or farther north, chances are that you will see some of the Northern Lights. A sunspot erupted late last week, which will cause a geomagnetic storm across the Northern Hemisphere tonight. Of course, the viewing possibility of this feature will also be to our west to the Great Lakes. This could be a spectacular show for locations up North that are not cloudy!

There will be two requirements for viewing. You have to be in the green area shown on the above map, and there has to be little to no clouds or light pollution. So if you live in a city the viewing conditions will be unfavorable.
