Rain Moves in Late Tonight into Early Sunday

As we have been mainly dry at least over the past week, at least here in the western Carolinas, rain will return late tonight and into early Sunday morning. The heaviest amounts will be in the western Carolinas, most likely in the foothills and SC Upstate. Amounts could exceed 1″ in areas of yellow.

The rain spreads east as the day progresses, as the eastern Carolinas will see amounts locally in excess of 1″. This will all push out by Monday, but then we are watching a tropical system heading our way late next week which could bring heavy rain.
