Relief from the Heat on the Way Next Week

It has been hot, and not exactly in the most southern locations. It has been hotter in Virginia and the Carolinas than it has been in Florida! Dangerous heat will continue through this weekend.

But then next week the pattern will change, and big storms will usher in much more cooler air, almost fall-like. In some locations, it could feel like late August or early September!

The latest GFS operational agrees with its ensembles. First image is the operation and second is the ensemble mean, both agreeing on below normal temperatures.

Both images were taken from www.tropicaltidbits.com

Highs may only top out around 85 for the Carolinas, thus making for GORGEOUS weather outside! This will be a much more suitable time frame for regular outdoor activities. Some people in the mountains may even be able to sleep with the windows open.

For those who can’t stand the heat, hang in there, as relief is coming!
