Severe Storms Possible for the Carolinas Today

Alert! There could be a line of storms that move from northwest to southeast across our region today. The storms may bring damaging winds that could take down trees and power lines, which could cause extended power outages. Also, large hail is possible.

Winds could gust in excess of 60 mph and the heavy rain could make for dangerous driving conditions. Don’t get caught out or on the road today when the storms threaten!

Eastern Tennessee and much of North Carolina including Charlotte could see the action today, and it could make it all the way to the coast. Portions of northern SC could also be included with the storms.

Heed all watches and warnings from the NWS today. The storms look to move through this afternoon. Re-consider any outdoor plans today and have a plan of action.
