Strong Winds; Power Outages Likely Today Into Tonight

Along with a powerful cold front will come potentially damaging winds across the Carolinas and even neighboring states. Charge those phones and laptops up now in case the power goes out. The highest wind gusts are expected to be in the mountains and in eastern NC, VA, and SC, but where there are severe thunderstorms winds could be higher, if not much higher. There is the threat of potential tornadoes in eastern parts of the coverage area…especially eastern NC and southeast VA.

With the front gusty downpours will occur this afternoon and this evening as the front pushes through the region.
