The least to say if we don’t have the cold at least we will be drier from all the recent rain. Temperatures will warm up this weekend, and lo and behold, the sun could come out. It could actually be a very pleasant weekend with abundant sunshine. Some locations could experience record high temperatures, especially those in the Upper Plains including Michigan.
The pattern seems to be very transient after this week. As we head into the 13th, the southern jet becomes active, or remains active, sending upper lows into the Southeast US. The question is, can it get cold enough for snow, or will these systems just bring more unwelcome rain? Or this could just be a cutter that cuts to the west of the coastal plain and just brings more warm air up from the south. Details are not certain yet.
