Typical Summertime Heat; Showers and Storms Return

It’s been dry, and as Hurricane Beryl makes landfall in Texas early this week, it will curve northeastward as it moves inland. As a result, we will start to see increasing showers and storms each day this week. Temperatures in the red area will see “typical” July heat with highs around 95 and 96 this week, especially Tuesday and Wednesday.

Thursday could still be hot down in SC with highs around 96 inland, for places such as Columbia. The other big point is the humidity will increase, especially with showers and storms increasing as Beryl swings by to our west.

Rain and storms/humidity will increase, with red being typical summertime heat but highs near 95 and 96.

In fact, once the tropical moisture source is activated, it will be hard to get rid of daily downpours and storms. This is good however for thoseĀ  experiencing drought conditions. Key takeaway for this week: typical summertime heat but a bit hotter in the red, storm chances increase, and humidity levels will reach unbearable levels especially later in the week, so some bad hair nights are expected.
