Hey Everyone, members, glad to have you. So what are us meteorologists seeing when we look at the models? Well, one thing to keep in mind is the National Hurricane Center. They have a pretty good track record when it comes to forecasts. Nobody is perfect, however. So what are we looking at as far as the GFS?
Well, the GFS is showing a horrific 888mb hurricane literally slamming into Miami. We will start hearing about how South Florida will get hit in the local and national news stations. The NWS down there is also starting to prepare the locals for an evacuation and to get their supplies. Why? Look at this monster around this time next week, give or take a day:
That would be a crippling, devastating blow to much of South Florida. But she doesn’t stop there, she moves over water and re-intensifies, and makes another landfall around Georgia or South Carolina, and then moves inland. Charlotte could see tropical storm conditions next week. This would put Southeast Virginia in the clear. HOWEVER do not let your guards down, because this forecast track is only moderate confidence at this point.

Then the storm moves due north and brings winds and flooding to the Carolinas.
Of course the threat for tornadoes would also be there, as with any landfalling tropical storm or hurricane. Mainly on the northeast quadrant of the storm. Flooding would also be a threat.
What about the Euro? It kind of has the same idea, although a more direct impact for the South Carolina coast. Then it moves inland bringing a swath of damage to the Carolinas.
At any rate, the consensus is a land falling hurricane or close to landfalling for Florida, and then the South Carolina coast. From Florida to Myrtle Beach needs to be on high alert and consider preparing for this storm.
