When Will That Bright Shiny Thing in the Sky Return?

Has anyone had enough of the rain, and raw cold conditions? I had a lady ask me “Are you ready for spring yet?” when I was exiting my local Harris Teeter during yesterday’s cold rain. Yes, I am ready for spring. I like winter and I want lots of snow, but for it to melt the next day. It seems as though the Charlotte area has yet to receive anything substantial so far this winter.

So when can we look forward to the pleasantries of sunshine and slightly warmer temperatures? Well, that looks like Tuesday. At least the sun will return at some point in the day, even if it is later in the day.

After Texas and other parts of the Deep South receive their winter storm today and tomorrow, the storm will cut to our west and then we will clear out behind it as it moves away on Tuesday. the hi-resolution NAM model shows this occurring on Tuesday, but the precip may move out sooner than indicated. Regardless, there may be some lingering rain and clouds along the coast, but it should not last long, and should move out by the day’s end.

Temperatures are only expected to be slightly warmer, with highs in the low 40s.
