Wintry Mess Next Few Days Ahead for Many

Multiple storms will move across the northern half of the country Sunday into Monday, and also Monday into Tuesday as separate events. Anything that falls in frozen form will stick around for a little while, but as things warm up and change to rain things could turn into a slushy mess.

There is the threat for icing in northern and western VA, however temperatures will be marginal, and ground temperatures are still warm. We are not expecting a major ice storms, but residents in this area need to monitor just in case.

The first round of snow moves through Sunday into early Monday. This is only expected to be a minor events, but could have impacts for Monday am rush.

The second events pushes through Monday into Tuesday, but as warmer air surges up from the south, everything will eventually change over to rain. However, this is not expected to happen before Tuesday am rush, which could cause cancellations, delays, and overall impacts.

For the rest of the South, this will be all rain for us. Expect a messy start to the week and travel delays due to potential heavy rain.
