Your Chances for Seeing a White End of the Week

With all the talks of snow coming this week, I am a bit skeptical. One thing I think forecasters sometimes forget is to take into account sleet accumulations. This drastically cuts back on snow totals. Not all models are in agreement for a snowstorm. Therefore, I went very low on my probabilities of who I think has a chance of seeing/hearing snow/sleet. Anyone who lives closer to the coast will see their chances drop dramatically.

A swath across the North with a Clipper system will cause hit or miss snow showers later this week. It may join up momentarily with a wave off the coast, bringing the best chances of snow to Southern NJ and Delaware. Even that is only the flip of a coin.

BELOW ARE THE PROBABILITIES OF ANY INDIVIDUAL SEEING WINTRY PRECIPITATION ON 12/8 – 12/9 –

Using the Kuchera snow-to-liquid ratio, most of the heaviest output is over South Jersey. Elsewhere could see the white stuff, however I believe that is sleet. I would say the higher the elevation of where you live, the more likely you will see flakes. For everyone else, especially farther in the South, I would expect a cold rain.
