Cold Front Will Usher in Fall-Like Air for Many

It might not have been the hottest summer, but it certainly has been humid, especially with all the rain. July was not overly that hot, and many of us were actually below normal for the month. The same for early August. But recently, it has been a bit warm and sticky outside. However, a storms system that is presently out in the Midwest will swing a strong cold front our way and will push through by Thursday morning. We are concerned about the threat of severe weather including tornadoes ahead of this front on Wednesday, so please make sure you share this article! Severe storms will be possible across the Southeast US.

It’s not uncommon for a strong cold front to bring relief to the East in late August, and that seems to be the case on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Many of us will notice a change in temperatures and lower humidity by Thursday morning. This will be for much of the East Coast.

Just how refreshing will it feel on Thursday morning? Let’s take a look at some of the modeled forecast low temperatures. Thursday morning temperatures are projected to be in the low 60s across much of SC and near 70 across much of SC. Extreme Southeast locations along the coast will not feel as much of a difference as locations farther inland. Charleston and Savannah for example, could remain in the 70s for morning lows.

The crisp air lasts until Friday morning when we could see even lower temperatures than on Thursday. Some locations in NC could dip into the upper 50s by Friday morning.

This is a hint that fall is on the way, and it is, since we are only about a month away.
